Police Make Arrest in Walker Case-Arrests

Las Vegas police say they've made an arrest in the robbery and beating case involving NFL player Javon Walker.

Lt. Clint Nichols says one man was charged Tuesday with multiple felonies including kidnapping and robbery and police are looking for a second suspect.

He says Walker got into a vehicle with the two men early June 16 before he was found beaten and unconscious on a side street near the Las Vegas Strip.

If you or a member of your family is a similar situation, it is adviseable to have a Queens Criminal lawyer at your side. An attorney will be very helpful in advising you of your rights and making sure that your side of the case gets to be heard in the best light for you.

Walker told police $3,000 in cash and about $100,000 in jewelry were taken.

Police say Walker suffered a moderate concussion and significant facial injuries. He was treated at a Las Vegas hospital.

He signed a six-year, $55 million deal with the Raiders after being released by the Denver Broncos in February.

Snipes Gets 3 Years for 'Costly Mistakes'- Don't Make The Mistake Of Not Hiring a Long Island Lawyer

After haggling with revenue agents, criminal investigators and eventually U.S. prosecutors for almost a decade, Wesley Snipes finally caught them by surprise
Hours before he was to be sentenced Thursday for failing to file income taxes he insisted he never had to pay, the action star cut the federal government three checks for $5 million, delivered in court.

So taken aback were prosecutors that they first declined the cash. But by the end of the day, the government took the money and more — a maximum three-year sentence for its highest-profile criminal tax target in decades.

"The sentencing court sends the right message to the American taxpayer — you've got to pay your taxes," U.S. Attorney Robert O'Neill told reporters outside the usually quiet central Florida courthouse. "Rich, poor, it doesn't matter. We all pay our taxes."

Though Snipes was convicted of three counts of willfully failing to file returns, his trial was held by some as proof of victory for the tax protest movement. Snipes was acquitted of five other charges, including felony tax fraud and conspiracy, that would've exposed him to 13 more years in prison.
If you or a family member is in a similar positition, make sure to have a Nassau County Lawyer at your side. You must have someone who is able to represent you and make sure that all your rights are protected.

Pete Doherty Sent to Jail for 14 Weeks - Do You Need A Long Island Criminal Lawyer?

British rock star Pete Doherty was ordered jailed Tuesday for 14 weeks for violating terms of his probation, his record label said.

The sentence, handed down at a west London court, forces Doherty to reschedule a performance at the Royal Albert Hall scheduled for April 26. His appearance at Britain's high-profile Glastonbury festival at the end of June also is in doubt.

Adrian Hunter, Doherty's manager, said there were "numerous reasons" the singer/songwriter had been jailed. "One of them was his late-coming at probation hearings," he told Reuters. Doherty, 29, has been in and out of court in recent months in connection with his well-publicized battle with drug abuse.

At a court hearing in October he admitted to a string of drug and driving offences, but was spared from jail when he was handed a suspended four-month prison term.

Anytime you or a family member has to face court hearings it is important to have a Nassau County Criminal Attorney at your side. Your council will guide you through the process and make sure your rights are protected.
